“Star Translator” EP3 --- Cary02020

 

Michael: Hi, everyone, in today’s interview, we are going to talk with another “Star Translator” – Cary02020, who got her VIP membership the last week.
Cary02020: Hello, everyone!

Michael: When did you start to take translation project? What’s your first project?
Cary02020: I started to do the translation in my first year in college. My first project is to translate a business letter, it’s not that difficult but I’ve spent a long time in selecting proper words. My translation was approved by the client although I was a fresh translator. Since then I have been interested in this translation industry and I’d like to have myself deeply involved in the translation!

Michael: I observed that you have translated many articles on Elanso Translation Community, most of which are related to Life, Health and Parenting. What are your criteria in choosing an article to translate?
Cary02020: I’d like to choose the article that arouses my interests when I do the practice; many articles with knowledge value are available on Elanso, that’s one of the reasons that I keep doing translation on Elanso.

Michael: You are one of the first VIP translators on Elanso, why did you make the decision so quick?
Cary02020: My friend used to pay for the membership of a foreign translation transaction platform. He undertook dozens of projects which helped him earn a lot of money. I think it’s a great idea to greatly enhance my opportunity to undertake projects by paying for the membership. I have already undertaken some projects since I become a VIP translator. I’ve made a great decision!

Michael: Not every VIP translator can undertake three of four projects immediately after they got the membership, any suggestions to the other translators?
Cary02020: According to my experience in translation agency, most projects are urgent that need to be translated in hours. So I try every effort to enhance my translation quality and have myself standing out among all the translators. Do more practicing, show your talent, and keep online, because client will choose your service any time! An positive attitude also helps you walk further.

Michael: Some translators doubt the security of online transaction and payment. What’s your opinion?
Cary02020: I don’t see too many differences between the transaction on Elanso and Ebay. We are the sellers here who offer translation service to the potential client. On Elanso, the client deposits the payment to Elanso; translator can absolutely receive the payment if they are confident with their translation works.
