If you like getting about the place and like playing games with friends online, well the best device is got to be the Nintendo DS. This is an amazing device that allows you to play over a WiFi connection and as WiFi is getting bigger and is in many big citys you can simply sit down on a bench and connect. The DS is one of the best selling hand-held consoles with it’s double screen and touch screen it makes you more involved when playing.

Games like Pokemon are getting bigger again as you can now trade pokemon and battle them over your WiFi connection instead of having to link up using an annoying cable that can easily fall out if your happy that you won and jump up knocking the cable out. Also many games allow you to see a bit more of the game, like Zelda you can see where you need to throw something then simply click it and it will do what is needed instead of having to just keep searching for it.

This is not a bug free device, if you hit it by mistake (fall etc) You can crack the screen allowing the liquid inside to escape and could mess up the entire device, but if your careful this will probably never happen. Also if you do not use WiFi you will be unable to use the internet play on your DS as it only has WiFi enabled, you would have to buy an wireless router or an addon that will fit on your router to make it go wireless.

As with all consoles there are some exclusive games, Ninetendogs and such. These games utilize the DS double touch screens and allow you to wash your dog and play with it which is extremely fun when you have got used to the system. These type of games are addictive and will give you hours of fun. You can get the Nintendo DS in many colours

The DS is in my opinion the best for out and about traveling gaming and would keep the children happy on them long annoying trips which they will moan all the way till your there and back home. The DS starts from around 100 GBP which is pretty good for the games and online WiFi connection. I would give this gaming device 4.5/5.0. To make it 5/5 you would need to have a Ethernet cable to get online as well as WiFi. This would open the world of DS gaming to a lot more people around the world that do not have the money or time to go out and buy a new router and set it up. There has been news on the internet that the DS might be redesigned to feature an Ethernet port so this could save time and money for all them people that currently do not have access to a wireless router. It is a must have gadget for children that go on trips all the time and get bored and moan a lot this will keep them happy for the majority of the team spent on the road.
