It seems TuneGlue has been around for over a year now, but yet people are still discovering that it even exists. The only time we can find it mentioned in our archives is on December 15th, 2006, wherein Pete announced it was being worked on, but after that, not a whole of anything. Then all of a sudden David Utter of WebProNews talked about it, and it seemed like the application was finally live. When I started digging though, I found where the app had won an award in August of 2007. Where was this app hiding? Did they fear actual traffic? Did they hide out in the bathrooms during a party, hoping no one would find them so they could be alone with their thoughts? I just went and played with it, and it’s cool, with seemingly logical connections, even if the majority of them seem overly obvious, but why is this like a secret? This is the first I’ve heard of the site, it’s the first Mark Hopkins, the editor on duty, hasn’t heard of it, so why should a useful tool like this remain disguised? Bad SEO? Bad marketing? No press releases? Even VeryShortList.com talked about it today as an under hyped site. (There’s an understatement) There are certainly more web apps out than any person could ever know, but it just seems odd that at least two of our crew has missed an app such as this in such a hot subject matter as music. Seeing the other write-ups they’ve been getting though, it seems we aren’t the only ones a bit surprised by this… I guess you could call it “a 17-month stealth launch”? So why not go over and be one of the first (?) users of this hot new music relationship app? --- Related Articles at Mashable! - The Social Networking Blog: Last.fm and Pandora - Music Discovery Services uPlayMe Closes Second Round of Funding Music Gifts Facebook App Sends the Real Thing Joost’s Deal Plans Hidden in PDF Presentation Wizag Creates Auto-Discovery Blog Search Widget Mercora - Music Discovery Service (with P2P and Support for Google Talk) Streakr Exchanging Clothes for Beta Testers
