Believe, Cheer and Always be Your Best Friend

Translate Into:

I am writing this article right now because I realize, as we all know, our worst enemy is oftentimes ourselves. When I stop worrying, when I just let myself be natural and free, I know I can do anything, it is just a matter of remembering all the times that I've out shined even my greatest visions for myself and stop focusing on all the possible negative “what ifs”.

I believe “what ifs” are important for strategic planning, but if you focus on them too much you can unconsciously set yourself up for failure. This is not the avenue you want to spend too much time dwelling on. You must only focus on them in a perspective like “well if that happens, then I can do this”. There are always positive alternatives. There are always other doors that you can open. There are always people who are going to be willing to help you out. You must always remember this.

Again, you must remember that Donald Trump was in debt for millions of dollars. If he had just dwelt in the negative he would be homeless on the streets. Instead, he changed his actions. The bottom line was that he needed to make a tremendous amount of money, and he needed to make it quickly. People think miracles only happen to “other” people, but they do and will continue to keep happening for you. You must allow yourself to be open to them. You must believe in yourself every step of the way. You must continue to congratulate yourself for everything you do that is spectacular, brave, and an achievement; even the smallest thing, for all of entails growth, all of it takes tremendous belief in yourself and courage.

Yes, honestly, I am terrified about entering a new field; the arena of the independent contractor/entrepreneur. The “what ifs” are pouring in from every direction like a large wave crashing down on me trying to wash away the high that I felt every time I have proven to myself that I have what it takes to take this risk. It is my thoughts; it is my worries that are my biggest challenge right now.

I know this and I am trying to fully embrace it so that I can get it clean out of my system. The only way to succeed is to believe in you. People can feel your positive energy. I know that when I got into the flow of things, everybody loved me. I had people calling me back who weren't sure about purchasing our product and wanted to buy them later over the phone after my first day! It was incredible. It was an amazing feeling. In total I moved 17 units for the first day, including call backs.

I was told by another sales manager that 14 is very good for an experienced sales person. I have only had about two weeks of sales training prior to this new job. I was astonished. I think this is partially why I am so terrified. It is somewhat unbelievable to me how much of a natural I was in this particular field. It makes me think was it a fluke? Can I keep it up? Was it just that I was working with the President of the company and his energy helped get my energy going?

I spoke to the President of the company a bit about my worry and he told me that he was energized by my positive attitude as well; that we definitely were able to make the in between “breather” moments better and the sales moments miraculous. I believe he moved 28 units that night. It was an amazing sales night for the both of us. And, he probably sold more with call backs. I still have not had a chance to call back all the people who left their information.

So, I want to at least try it out even though there is still a part of me that wants to run away screaming in terror. I feel that if I run away, I am running away from an opportunity that is a gold mine. I just need to give myself a chance. I need to give myself the space to know that if I do make mistakes I am still wonderful, I am still the same shining person I know I am when I am at my best. I need to truly be my best friend and cheerleader. It seems that for most of us it's so much easier to cheer our friends on, what we need to learn to do is cheer ourselves on as well.

I must learn to turn trying situations into learning experiences. I need to use my own advice more often and “flip” everything into a positive. I need to build my own self-confidence with every courageous step I take.

Thank you again with all my heart for taking the time to read and share my journey.

Best wishes to all.
