The Company

Monkey King (美齐金有限公司) is a boutique research firm serving financial investors. We are a small team of three expatriates and six Chinese staff based in Beijing. We watch China’s economy and identify significant economic and commercial trends then find growing, undervalued companies. We report on the sectors and companies and help investors find smart investment targets.

The Job

We are looking for an information technology industries analyst to add to our team. The analyst will meet and talk to interesting companies in China’s Internet, media, and entertainment, wireless value-added services, hardware and software, systems integration and distribution, and semiconductor industries. The analyst must read all relevant press and blogs on his or her covered sectors, be knowledgeable about China’s government and regulatory structure, and understand the economic trends that drive growth in IT. He or she should know how to navigate contacts throughout the IT industry and get out into the field to interview companies and executives, understand which information is significant, and convey that information to the team.

Job Requirements

You should have some background in IT in China and some experience in research and/or consulting.

Hard requirements: bachelor’s degree or higher from a good university, at least two years’ working experience in consulting or research, at least two years’ exposure to the IT industry, good written English.

Soft requirements: high intelligence, lively interest in China’s economy, outgoing personality, resourcefulness, wide network of friends, ability to work with others.

Compensation

About 6,000 RMB/month, up or down depending on experience.
