Want to see vintage Apple ads other than the overplayed 1984 Superbowl one? Philip Barnes has a small selection for you, showing off some of the computer company's earliest hooks, lines and sinkers.

The most interesting thing, to me? Though it's a very small set, I think it's telling that the very earliest ads are the ones most similar to today's: minimalist and somewhat abstract. Head into the 1980s, and Apple starts adopting enterprise themes and appealing to more business-oriented mindsets.

It gives me the faintest whisper of a thought that every time Steve looks at an Xserve, he thinks of Pepsi Cola and shudders.
