 So maybe you have "lazy finger syndrome" and just don't feel like dialing a phone number your cell. I won't judge you... I'm one of those folks that will walk past the TV to pick up the remote and shut the set off. That's why the $10 Phone Plugins app from nova media is appealing to me. It's for Macs running OS X 10.5.2 or better and it only does two things: dials your phone and sends SMS messages; complete with a spell check.
You'll need a compatible phone from this list comprised of various Nokia, Motorola, Samsung and Sony Ericsson handsets. Phone Plugins then integrates with Address Book so you can right-click a contact and tell your Mac to ring them up or send them a text message. nova says you can use the Services menu in other apps to use the functions too: could be handy if someone sends an e-mail with their phone number. Using Bluetooth to send the request or message, Phone Plugins initiates the action right on your handset. Sadly for some: there's no iPhone support, likely due to profile limitations imposed by Cupertino. Now where did I put that TV remote... the show I'm listening to in the background is WAY too loud and none of our kids are around to turn it down... (via SvenOnTech)
