Take a wild and rickety ride on one of the two remaining west coast oceanfront roller coasters, The Giant Dipper. Located in Belmont Park (Mission Boulevard and West Mission Bay Drive in San Diego), an old-style family amusement park, the Giant Dipper has been restored from its original 1925 condition, and now lurches riders through quick drops, steep hills, sharp curves, and high speeds. The highest drop is 73 feet, and the top speed is 45 miles per hour. Six dollars gets you a ride lasting one minute, 45 seconds. And don’t think this is only about fun and games! The coaster is listed as a National Landmark. If you can’t get to Belmont Park, you can take a virtual ride. Somehow, though, it’s just not the same! _____________________________________________ Tags: amusement parks, b5media, California, flight attendants, flyaway-cafe, Giant Dipper, roller coasters, San Diego, travel, travel & tourism, travel blogging, travel blogs, travel information, Travel Tips, vacationShare This
