This Week in Beatles History (#39) [The Beatle Invasion]

A rolling stone may gather no moss, but The Rolling Stones gathered a lot of attention from The Beatles this week in Beatles History.

April 13 - 1965. The Beatles receive two Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Performance by a Vocal Group (“A Hard Day’s Night”).
April 14 - 1963. The Beatles attend a Rolling Stones concert at the Crawdaddy Club in London, and an after-party at Mick Jagger’s flat which lasts until 4am.
April 15 - 1964. Ed Sullivan interviews The Beatles for his TV show.
April 16 - 1969. Recording sessions begin for “Old Brown Shoe”.
April 17 - 1970. John Lennon is interviewed for Rolling Stone magazine, and comments on Paul McCartney leaving the band.
April 18 - 1963. Paul meets Jane Asher after a televised concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
April 19 - 1965. “Ticket to Ride” / “Yes It Is” single released in the US.
