SkinBag: making you feel comfortable in your own (fake) skin

As a little girl, I used to watch these weird Hindi movies where the villains would threaten the hero by telling him if he dares oppose his evil cause, he’d be skinned and the villain will have shoes made out of it. The terrifying thought had kept me awake many a night in my childhood till I realized it was almost impossible for someone to wear shoes made out of human skin! But that was till I saw this freaky collection by French artist Olivier Goulet. Eerily named SkinBag, the collection features everything from hand-crafted garments, accessories, footwear and other products made of one single piece out of synthetic material that has been specially processed to look and feel like human skin! Now that’s a creepy idea, and I dare say it gives a whole new definition to the phrase ‘being comfortable in your own skin’!
