East Festival [The London Traveler]

Translate Into:

Coming up on 6-1 March is EAST, the East London festival.

It opens with a  masssive bellringing marathon which will bring the fine towers of the East End to life - St Paul’s, St Bartholomew’s Smithfield, Hawksmoor’s fine  spire at Christchurch Spitalfields, and more. The relay starts at St Paul’s and will spread out to more than 20 other churches in the City, Islington and East End.

Theatres and art galleries and other performance spaces will be open throughout the festival. There are historical tours and talks - details at http://www.visitlondon.com/london/east/. And to go with it there’s a festival of shopping - the East End being one of the coolest places in London for offbeat fashion and art.  Besides, Spitalfields Market will host ‘TasteEAST’ on Friday and Saturday 7-8 March, with farm animals for the children to pet, hog roasts, food stalls, and entertainment including the Cosmic Sausages.

Definitely a different side to London!
