The next time you are baring your soul with your RE or precariously perched at the edge of a table at your gynecologist and s/he pulls out his/her blackberry, don’t be offended. She may be helping you.
Last month, according to Medical News Today, USBMIS, a leading provider of mobile medical software, announced the release of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility for BlackBerry handhelds.
What does that mean? USBMIS claims, this BlackBerry software offers mobile access to everything needed to provide comprehensive healthcare to women.
Wow. Gosh. All of this time we flattered ourselves thinking that we women were mysteries, our ability to carry embryos enigmatic. And here the answers to all of our issues were sitting right there, next to the incoming email, the reminder to pick up the dry cleaning and photos from last week’s dinner party.
I honestly do love the fact that technology often works in fertility’s favor. And access to information is rarely a bad thing. I do cringe at the idea of my doctor consulting his blackberry in the midst of our consultation.
And maybe I am still a little envious of blackberry owners.
