I know it sounds crazy, but this kinda works. If you have a bottle of corked wine, run plastic wrap through it in a bowl, for about a minute. Supposedly, the TCA attaches to the plastic and thereby comes out of the wine. We did this the other night at a study group with the last bottle, which turned out to be corked. I remembered Meg saying it recently and that I’d read or heard it somewhere else, so I ran into the kitchen to get a bowl and plastic. Once I’d done it, I went back for a measuring cup and asked who wanted a scoop. We all retried and agreed the corkiness was much less, though still detectable. But since there was a lot to start with, this might work for less tainted bottles.
Cheers!
