UCLA Medical Center has fired 13 employees for snooping through Britney Spears’ medical records. It was not disclosed when the snooping took place, but the confidential records were from her most recent hospital stay.
UCLA Medical Center fired 13 employees for looking at Britney Spears’ medical records
It is not known if any of the records were leaked or sold to any tabloids, according to the Los Angeles Times.
In addition to the 13 employees fired, six employees were suspended, and they are considering disciplining six physicians who took a peek at the medical records as well.
The hospital even took preventive measures when the hot mess was brought in on January 31st. They sent out a memo to all of their employees to remind them that they were only allowed to view their own patients’ medical records. Looking at any others was violating the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
This is not the first time that hospital personnel were caught looking at her records. The same thing occurred back in 2005, when she gave birth to her son, Sean Preston.
