According to the study of psychologists, it is transient for people to form the first impression of the others. Some consider it the first 40 seconds after meeting, and some the first 2 seconds. Just blinking the eyes, you must have been concluded. However, sometimes it’s the several seconds that seals one’s fate, because in the fast-paced modern society, few people will spend more time thoroughly knowing a person who has left a bad first impression and prove his ability again by observation.
People would rather to believe the first impression than the impression made afterward. Although we afford to say:“Don’t judge a book by its appearance.” Neverthless, it’s undeniable that everyone around the world, including ourselves, does like this. People judge us by our appearances and behaviors; and we also judge others by observating their looks, stature, costume, speech, tune, motion, etc.
How do we judge like this? 55% depends on your appearance, including costume, personal visage, stature and hair color; 38% self-expression, including your tone, tune, gesture, posture, motion, sitting posture, etc. Only 7% is your real content of speech. Psychologists also find that people would immediately give you 10 conclusions by intuition when you enter into a strange circumstance, they are: your economic situation, educational background, social background, level of sophistication, realiability, marital status, family background, the possibility of success, age, artistic culture, health status, etc. It is often heard that:“I know him by just a glimpse of sight.”,which is the first impression. People who are smartly dressed, zeal, friendly, lenient and kind are well popular. On the contrary, those who are in rags, lack of culture, harsh, bellicose, with strong desire for conquer and selfish are disgusted with.
