I'm not much of a graphics person, but when I have to work on something I want it to look half way decent and kind of modern. Lately I've seen more things along the lines of the Silverlight logo and I'm not sure how they are doing it. Is it just dedication, or are there better tools for this type of a job? Another example is in the image over here on this article, the Becta report cover image about half way down it: UK education agency says no to Vista, Office 2007[^] So is it just a load of manual labor spent manipulating points on a vector drawing and laying in different polygons and colors, or is there software that makes doing this a little better? So far I've just been using InkScape, but I'm willing to pay for something if it makes it easy and looks good.
