Ashlee and Pete Are Not Engaged, But They Are Promised Ashlee Simpson stopped by The Sauce in NYC yesterday to talk about her new album, but she also revealed the meaning behind that ring she's been wearing. In January her rep denied that she and Pete are engaged, but that doesn't mean her jewelry has nothing to do with her boy — turns out, Pete gave Ash a promise ring. She said, "It just means that he hasn't asked my dad yet . . . " Sound like things are serious and if we're lucky maybe she and Jessica can double up for a Simpson family extravaganza.
