RED 在 Red One 的大成功 (?) 之后再接再励发布了「稍微」低端的手持式摄影机 Scarlet mini。话虽说是低端，但 Scarlet mini 采用的 2/3" Mysterium X 感光器提供 3K、1-120 FPS 的影片到双 CF 卡上，每秒的资料流高达 100MB。预览屏幕有 4.8" 大，内置的镜头也有 8x 变焦。输出的选择有 HDMI、HD-SDI、FireWire 800 和 USB 2.0 等。

价格还没有确定，但大概是「比三千美元一台略便宜一点」，预定上市时间是 2009 年初。
