The industry would soon be receiving more and more solar cells. This is because, according to the newspaper Nikkei, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation would be doubling the current amount of solar cells that they produce. At present Mitsubishi Electric is the sixth-largest producer of solar cells in the world. The newspaper did continue to disclose that Mitsubishi Electric is looking at 230 megawatts to be produced and the whole plan starts by April next year.
The added production would be shouldered by the company’s factories in Nagano and Kyoto. They would be investing 10 billion yen for such a plan. Experts believe that if Mitsubishi Electric is successful in this plan, it would be able to produce 500 megawatts come 2012. Hopefully, with the large amount of solar cells being sold in the public, the price of such would also go down so that more consumers would be able to afford clean energy technologies.
