Just as media attention on his wife's incorrect statements about her trip to Bosnia had essentially died down, Bill Clinton decided to bring them up again. ABC News' Political Radar says the former President, who spent two days not campaigning, "eagerly discussed" various issues with a crowd in Indiana before blaming the media for blowing up Hillary's misstatements.
"A lot of the way this whole campaign has been covered has amused me. But there was a lot of fulminating because Hillary, one time late at night when she was exhausted, misstated and immediately apologized for it, what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995. Did y'all see all that. Oh, they blew it up. Let me just tell you...And you woulda thought, you know, that she'd robbed a bank the way they carried on about this. And some of them when they're 60 they'll forget something when they're tired at 11:00 at night, too."

Of course, Senator Clinton did make the remarks three times (December 2007, February 2008, and last month in the morning), and only apologized a week after the last instance, which makes her husband's defense perfect fodder for pundit programming, like the Dan Abrams show (clip above).
