In Prep for Beijing Olympics, Deer Penis Off the Chinese Athlete Menu; George W. Still on it

By Debbie Schlussel

I've previously noted how the Chinese have ordered restaurants to take such "delicacies," like shark fin, off the menu to show the world how "humanitarian" the country is. But it's just window dressing. Still on the menu throughout China is slave labor, repression, and persecution--all courtesy of Mao's Communism.

The same goes for the latest story of China's "make-over" efforts. The country has banned deer penis, turtle blood, and angelica root potions from athletes' diets. The cover story is that China believes these concoctions might not pass muster with stricter anti-doping rules. But the real reason, just like the banning of shark fin soup, is to make us think more highly of the Communist enslaving nation.

We're not buying it. But, sadly, George W. Bush apparently is. He's adamant about attending the Olympics and said in a press conference that he's attending the even as an individual because it's a major sporting event, but that it doesn't symbolize his condoning of the awful Chinese human rights violations.

Um, hello . . . ? This man is the leader of the free world. He's the President of the United States, which is supposed to have the moral high ground on issues of freedom and human rights. Any time he attends anything in a foreign nation, it symbolizes his acceptance, acquiescence to, and approval of the tactics of that country. That's especially the case, whenever Bush attends Muslim or Communist nations, like China. Even Bush cannot possibly believe the poorly-fertilized excuse he's giving for lending his presence to this "mere sporting event."

And don't forget that China is not only still our enemy, it's still actively spying on us. Just Monday, Gregg Bergerson, a Defense Deapartment analyst, pleaded guilty to giving classified U.S. military information to the Chinese. Just because everything at Wal-Mart, Target, and Kmart says "Made in China," doesn't mean that the Chi-Coms are suddenly our allies.

Bush's attendance at the Beijing Olypmics is a slap in the face not just to those who died in Tiananmen Square and those who continue to be executed as political prisoners, with their bodies sold to and desecrated by plastic sculpturists, but to the American people. It's disgusting that Bush would attend the Beijing Olympics.

Fifteen Members of Congress, citing Chinese human rights abuses, urged Bush not to attend the Beijing Games. Sadly, only one Republican--pan-Islamist Dana Rohrabacher--is among them.

President Bush, don't go to Beijing and lend your name while slavery and torture--and forced abortion--continues throughout China.

On the other hand, with Bush's repeated pandering to Islamofascist regimes that do the same--Saudi Arabia and the like--why should we be surprised by this latest shameful gracing of his presence on a notorious human rights abusing nation?

To sum up: Deer penis off the menu for Chinese athletes. The Leader of the Free World and his tacit promotion of China, still on the menu. The Chinese will all be "feasting" on this outrageous endorsement of their regime.

All hail the Commie-lympics.
