Kudos to KC Concepcion for taking up the cause of solving hunger in the Philippines!
The young celeb was chosen as the Philippines’ ambassador against hunger by the United Nations World Food Programme. Her special mission is to “highlight the need for effective solutions to hunger and to address the humanitarian needs in Mindanao.”
KC has already been to Pikit, North Cotabato and gave hot meals to children in hopes of boosting school enrolment and attendance in Mindanao. Said the actress -
“It was so uplifting to see first-hand how something as basic as food can make such a difference in the lives of children
Hunger is more than an empty stomach]. It’s an obstacle that stops children from achieving their full potential.”
Other celebrities endorsing the World Food Program in their own countries include American movie star Drew Barrymore and Indonesian actor Luna Maya.
Other projects that KC is involved in is the Virlanie Foundation, the largest private non-sectarian child caring institution. More power to KC Concepcion and we hope many other young celebrities follow her lead and make a difference in the country. The good Lord knows we need all the help we can get.
