April 14 2008: A start of new Malaysia Part 1 [The Kuala Lumpur Traveler]

Translate Into:

Black 14: Brisk business
As planned, I was at the Sultan Sulaiman Club last night. I reached Kg Baru just in time for Maghrib prayer at the Kg Baru mosque and looking at the crowds performing the prayers there last night, I knew another large crowds will be gathering at the Sultan Sulaiman Club. As usual, the policemen were everywhere. What a waste of time and money.

Black 14: The crowds…. 20,000 of them
In side the club, the crowd started to build up quite fast. The emcee announced that the field could easily accomodate 15,000 and looking at the number of people at the rally last night, I’d say it was easily 20,000 with lot more queuing outside following the proceeding from the high-quality loudspeaker.

Black 14: Nice t-shirt ehh
As usual, there were makeshift stalls selling all kind reformasi stuff and I tell you the business was brisk. When I returned to these stalls later, almost every thing was sold out. I bought one PAS cap and one Keadilan cap to add to my collection.

While waiting for the arrival of VIPs, reformasi-related videos were shown over a very large screen above the stage. That of course did not fail to bring back the memories of September 1998 events unfolding very close to where I was working at that time, Wisma Bandar, which was very close to Dataran Merdeka and National Mosque where hundreds of thousands of people rallied behind Anwar Ibrahim who was sacked by Mahathir ‘mudah lupa’. Of course we all know the reasons cited by Mahathir ‘mudah lupa’ for the sacking of Anwar were just lousy excuses and the whole nation knew why Mahathir ‘mudah lupa’ sacked Anwar. Mahathir ‘mudah lupa’ had to sack Anwar at all cost using lousy excuses because he was afraid Anwar will topple him. Period.

Black 14: Attentive crowds were glued to the large video screen in front
Last night, Anwar had said that altough he had forgiven Mahathir ‘mudah lupa’ for all the cruel treatments he had done to Anwar, Mahathir ‘mudah lupa’ is still one unrepentent man when he continued to assault Anwar with all kind of allegations that have no proof what so ever.

Anwar had again last night accused Mahathir ‘mudah lupa’ of being the biggest robber in Malaysian history plundering the nation’s wealth to enrich his families and cronies to the tune of hundreds of millions of Ringgit Malaysia. Anwar also said it was Mahathir ‘mudah lupa’ who has screwed up the state of our judiciary. Mahathir ‘mudah lupa’ also responsible for the jailing of hundreds of innocent victims under ISA. The deterioration of Bahasa Melayu as natiional language is also the making of none other than Mahathir ‘mudap lupa’…. just to name a few.

Stay tuned for Part 2 coming soon.
