Personal feed reader DailyMe has just named Neil Budde as its new President, Chief Product Officer. Coming from Yahoo News, and working as a major force behind the Wall Street Journal Online initiative, Neil Budde has a great deal of experience in the online news delivery arena.
As the recently funded DailyMe is a custom, online news delivery service, this project could prove rather compelling for someone of Budde’s caliber, especially as he’ll be helping DailyMe move in the right direction. Some of the features that are seemingly key for aligning Budde’s talent and expertise include the news delivery timing options, automated printing tools, and the relationships DailyMe will need to continue building with its licensing partners for content.
Initially launched in October of last year, I found the personal feed-reading capabilities of DailyMe to be rather basic, but this straddled approach to news delivery can be more valuable to the average news consumer, especially ones getting their feet wet for the first time in regards to online news consumption. No details given on DailyMe’s plans for Budde or the new features that will be coming over the next few months, but I imagine that even more automated features that align with ubiquitous tools like email, and additional options in regards to content filtering and delivery, are some of the things that may be on the list.
