The previous episode of Survivor Philippines had all the castaways crying after receiving video messages from their friends and family.
Marlon said that his determination was destroyed because he was tired and mentally stressed.
JC said that he had picked Cris, although he didn’t trust him, because of how emotional Cris was when it came tohis family. He picked Marlon because he saw how much Marlon had missed his girlfriend.
Kaye said that Charisse had told her she wanted to be in the top 5 at least. JC assured his former Naak tribes that he would stick to what he had told them before.
Marlon’s Strategy
Marlon said that he didn’t mean everything that he had done on the island. JC said that Marlon had not been picked for any of the food rewards. Marlon said that the reward he had just enjoyed was better, and that he would not exchange any resort with the message he had received. JC said that he felt sorry for Marlon. Marlon observed how lucky JC was in terms of the reward challenges.
Charisse expressed fear of losing the black pearl that Vern had given to her, and that she could no longer trust any of the castaways because they all wanted the same thing.
Marlon told Kaye to pick another off before removing him and Charisse from the island. It was the right strategy, he said. Then, he told her that he himself had stopped strategizing. On camera, he said that no one stood a chance in the final two with Zita.
Kaye said on-camera that, if Marlon stayed, her plan could be ruined and the others could find out about it. Marlon advised Charisse to be calm but vote for Zita. Charisse cried out to Marlon that she didn’t want to go home yet. Charisse thanked him for everything. Marlon said that if he were to go home next, he would give the black pearl to Zita, and that Charisse were to continue the plan.
Marlon told Cris to think about his strategy, once there were only four of them. Cris said that he knew where he stood. Cris confronted Marlon about the things he had told the castaways, about who would be in danger from the others.
Marlon thought about hiding the tribe’s fire-making flint and putting out the fire just before they left for Tribal Council. He hoped that the others would not vote him out for fear of not having fire in the camp. (Charisse said that Marlon would do everything to stay longer.)
In a bid to scare Cris against voting him off, Marlon told Cris that he would give the pearl, and a letter (containing the flint) to him if he were to leave next. Cris said that he will accept whatever came his way, but that Marlon couldn’t accept his fate on the island. Marlon admitted that he is unable to accept losing.
Cris was just cool with his conversation with Marlon. Marlon assured Cris “100%” that he (Marlon) would not be the one voted off that night. Cris compared Marlon to a car that needed needed a tune-up (a tune-up to his brain, that is!), because Marlon was nervous about leaving but couldn’t accept it.
Marlon’s Plans
Cris wouldn’t let Marlon play mind games with him. He asked Marlon what the purpose was for threatening him with the black pearl and the letter. “For what? Para mag-backing ako for my decide”. Cris said that his decision came from his heart.
Marlon asked him outright if Cris would vote off Marlon, and said that somebody told him so. Cris challenged him to bring forward the person who had said it to Marlon. Marlon changed his tactic and said he was not a traitor like Cris, that he could not reveal the person. Marlon accused Cris of going against his word, and that Cris’ reputation was now destroyed because he was a traitor. Marlon threatened that he would do whatever he wanted. Cris just continued to be cool through all of Marlon’s barrage.
Marlon next confronted Rob about voting him off. Marlon said that he wanted to talk with the rest of the castaways, take the black pearl and lose it to stop its curse. Marlon said that he had three strategies left: he would do one good thing (lose the pearl), one bad thing, and that he would persist with the others.
Cris said that Marlon was just confused because he didn’t want to leave. Charisse didn’t want to give up the pearl because of the possible penalty, and that Marlon was just plotting against her.
