Scott Patt is a good friend of mine… well actually… he’s my husband! I really wanted to highlight him during this guest blog because he is one of my greatest inspirations and guides me with my own art work on a daily basis. He studied design at Penn State University and subsequently went on to study painting at the rigorous Barnstone Studio’s in Copley, PA.

Scott’s work is about whimsy, concept and connection. He says that growing up in rural Pennsylvania was a major influence on his work. He describes “From the hand painted signage of the Amish to the skee-ball at the local carnival, every day was filled with color and connectivity.”

Scott uses found materials such as toys, children’s books, wood and house paint. The familiarity of these everyday materials and objects helps to connect people to his work. They also allow for unexpected results. To learn more about Scott please visit his web site.

Damion and Jennifer Silver are two of our closest friends. Damion is a professional designer and artist. His work ranges from product design to fine art. He has been in numerous solo and group shows in the U.S., Europe, Australia and Japan. For more information check out Damion’s web site here.

Jennifer is a fantastic artist too, she did this piece at our new years eve “photo collage” party in ‘07. Jen has such a great sense of style and design. I love the way she puts things together. From her accessories to the art on her walls. Jen has instilled in me a new appreciation for collectible plates :) They are just adorable all together on her kitchen wall. Thanks Jen!
