 John Rich of the group, “Big & Rich” does not like American Idol from what I gather… He’s currently a judge on Nashville Star and he had the following to say: “‘American Idol’ infuriates me as an artist. I can’t stand watching it. I wouldn’t want to be on that show now if you gave me a $100 bill.”
It didn’t end there. He apparently wanted to weigh in on the time when Ryan Seacrest had to address the rumors that Paula Abdul was under the influence when she provided feedback on a performance that never took place this past season. Rich said: “When you can’t make a cognizant comment about someone’s performance and you’re commenting on something that happened the day before, why don’t you just walk up onstage and slap them right across the face while you’re at it? As an artist, I would just flip them the bird and walk off the stage and go, ‘Thank you very much. I’m going back to Topeka and work on it on my own.’ ” Well, I can understand what he is saying but Nashville Star can thank American Idol for making this type of show so popular (yeah, I know there was Star Search and all that before but nothing has been as big as Idol).
