Police said Mori threw a chunk of concrete into the entrance window of the Iharanosato Transit Police Guardhouse in Izumisano early on Saturday morning. Immediately before the incident, Mori had traveled by taxi from central Osaka to Izumisano Police Station and then refused to pay the fare.
The cab driver refused to press charges against Mori and police let him off with a warning. Mori responded by going directly to the guardhouse about 1.5 kilometers away from the police station and throwing the chunk of concrete, police said.
“Of all the cop stations I know, Izumisano Police Station is the furthest away. I never dreamed the taxi driver would let me off for not paying,” Mori told the police.
Mori smashed the window because he felt prison was the only place he could regularly eat decent meals. He had only recently been released after serving an 8-month jail sentence for….smashing the window of a police box in Osaka.
