294428636_a0ede4ee9c Another Southern state looks to be getting closer.  This time, it is the state of South Carolina, a state that Obama doesn’t seem set to win but a state that he could certainly make a play for.

A new PPP poll shows John McCain now leading Obama by just 6 points in the state.  A recent Rasmussen poll showed the margin had fallen to 9 points.

So, it seems clear that South Carolina definitely leans toward John McCain but is close enough to perhaps put the state in play, especially as Bob Barr is attracting mid-high single digits.  The state may get interesting if the Obama camp starts to advertise there as the state is rather cheap to put up spots.

Still, this doesn’t affect my overall Electoral Forecast numbers.
