What it does

Snappler has nothing to do with the salty sweet line of lemonades and pink tea refreshers and a lady full of funny retorts. No, Snappler is a new publishing platform designed for your mobile. Sure there are heaps out there already—you’ve got your Tapiocas, and your PixPulses among others. But Snappler was delicately coded to harness your phone’s web powers for easy publishing. The key here is that Snappler does without MMS, which other sites use to transfer web content from mobile devices. With Snappler, you can do everything directly from your mobile. There’s no need to head to a web café or go home to your PC to start adding content. Snappler is easy to install—simply create your own page, user name, and password, then connect to the install page. Once installed you can publish up to 100MB of content a month for free. Snappler supports a variety image, audio and video formats including MP3, WAV, JPG, PNG, MPEG4, and GIF.

In their own words

“Snappler is a free and open platform that enables you to do what could not be done before: Create your own video, audio and picture posts from your mobile phone without the limitations of MMS, which is used by other sites to transfer content from mobile devices.”

Why it might be a killer

Snappler is a good idea in theory. It cuts out the need to head to a PC to publish content on your mobile. Instead, this lets you publish direct from your mobile. And that includes all media content for free.

Some questions

Does Snappler work? Are users going to have problems with their smartphone of choice? Will the monthly uploading limitations be a deterrent to users?
