What it does
InverSearch is a new kind of search engine aimed at connecting businesses and consumers. Through this site, businesses are charged by the number of consumer inquiries they receive, rather than the number of hits. Consumers who wish to surf the net establish free profiles, which are tracked by InverSearch. When those consumers send a query to businesses with InverSearch accounts, the businesses are charged, and dialogue between the two parties is exchanged. This site operates on the simple supply and demand model, fights the industry-wide problem of click fraud, and aims to save all parties time and money.
In their own words
“InverSearch is a search engine that bills its business users by the number of responses they make to consumer inquiries rather than by the number of hits they receive. InverSearch utilizes a Pay-Per-Response business model that does not affect the relevancy of search results or devour the budgets of advertisers. This method is different from the Pay-Per-Click system used by many search engines.”
Why it might be a killer
This site does ensure that advertising budgets are not eaten up, and the quality of information searched for is kept intact. However, whether consumers, or businesses for that matter, wish to take the time to create profiles is uncertain. Furthermore, the limitations of the sites that can be visited and messaged are also hindrances.
Some questions
How can consumers be incentivized to participate in this site? How can businesses be encouraged to create accounts with InverSearch?
