Ⅰ. Name: NOW Legal Aid
Ⅱ. Assumption and plan:
Content of the project includes survey on the current situation of law, education to popularize legal knowledge, and legal aid.
By means of going deep among communities, streets and schools, corporating with enterprises and governmental institutions, we will take advantage of their promotional materials and legal knowledge in close connection with them, so as to promote spot issues on laws and provide legal aid such as lawl consultation, agent etc.
Ⅲ. Paticipation and coorperation sides:
Project members are students from Law School of ECUPL, who are also members of The East China University of Political Science and Law Student Legal Aid Center, with abundent experience on legal aid.
Coorperation side: students from Legal Aid Center of ECUPL on duty, and schools ,streets and communities around.
The coorperation sides include people of different groups, involving the disabled, the old, women and children; from different regions, involving residental habitations in district of Putuo, Xuhui, Changning, Huangpu, Pudong etc; of all age groups, like students, the youth, and the old; and from different types of work units, broadly covering governmental organs, enterprises, educational institutions, street communities.

Ⅳ. Operation process:
ⅰ. Late May—late June: preparation for the project
(ⅰ). Get in touch with cooperation sides, and fix when and where to carry out the project;
(ⅱ). Initially approach the cooperation sides on their survey, and work relevant legal promotional materials;
(ⅲ). Design questionnaire.
ⅱ. Early July—middle August: Implementation
(ⅰ). Promote laws through publicizing windows of the street, school class resources, ailes and lounges of the enterprises;
(ⅱ). Launch on-the-spot legal aid activities in places with many people, and answer the questions one by one, and also provide agent service if possible;
(ⅲ). Send questionnaires at the time of promoting laws and provide legal aid, to survey the current situation of laws and collect public opinions and suggestions.
ⅲ. Late August—early September: Conclusion.
(ⅰ). Collect and analyze survey statistics, then write the research report;
(ⅱ). Discuss between group members for achievements and failures, then write their own opinions;
(ⅲ). Refer to our report, put forward views and suggestions on current state of legal aid impletation to relevant government organs, so that we can make some devotions to the construction of legal society.
Ⅴ. Legal issues involved
ⅰ.Latest developments of legislation. (Such as the newly-issued 《Law of The People’s Republic of China on Employment Contracts》, 《Notice of PRC on Publication of Government Information》etc)
ⅱ. Legal issues meeting the need of the cooperation sides. (Such as promote 《Notice of PRC on Publication of Government Information》 in government, 《Laws on Employment Contracts》 in institutes and corperations, 《Protective Law of Juvenile》 in schools, 《Marriage Law》《Inheritance Law》and regulatins on real estate in street communities etc )
Ⅵ. Expectation and aim:
We hope that, this project will teach us a comprehensive knowledge of legal aid system impletation, and provide theories and serve as a guide for the future reform and development of The East China University of Political Science and Law Student Legal Aid Center, and meanwhile we can come up with views and suggestions for improvement of social legal aid system, devoting ourselves to it heart and soul.
As members of The East China University of Political Science and Law Student Legal Aid Center, we will help citizens boost their consciousness on laws, enhance their legal commen sense, in forms of publicizing legal knowledge and providing legal aid. And at the same time, people speak highly of our legal aid center. We will focus on various vulnerable groups to strengthen their consciousness of right, and teach them figting for their personal interests. We will spare no efforts to achieve the goal of “serving the society with what we learn, and striving for fairness and justice”.
Ⅶ. Significance to the modern society
With the help of the project, we would take our advantages to promote basic legal knowledge to the mass, so that they can establish consciousness of rights safeguarding. And the practicality and instrumentality of law will be futher publicized, serving people much better. Meanwhile, it intensifies our members’ social responsibility and enterprise for public interests, futher enhances the promotion effect of law on social development, and dedicates whole-heartedly to the rule by law policy and construction of a harmonious society.
