RE: The Latest Day Note of Tease
When I came to Japan, the Japanese economy was in the shitter, and the US dollar was worth something like 130 or 135 yen to the dollar. (I forget exactly!) So, if you had dollars, Japan wasn't such an expensive place! Like writing for American mags was great, because they paid in dollars. Hell, even in 2005 (when CheapyD got to Japan), it was still 120 yen to the dollar. Not too shabby!
Then the Japanese economy got better, and then the US one didn't. And then it got worse and worse and the exchange rate is currently 103 yen to the dollar. How the fuck did that happen? De-pressing.
