“How much am I getting?” That seems to be a popular question as it relates to rebate checks. If you want to know in advance, you can check out the “Economic Stimulus Payment Calculator” on the IRS web site.
How does it work? You must answer a series of questions on the web which the IRS estimates will take about 5-10 minutes. You’ll need your 2007 federal form 1040, federal form 1040EZ, or federal form 1040A handy -remember that you won’t qualify for the rebate unless and until you’ve filed those returns. You will not qualify for the rebate at all if you file a federal form 1040NR, federal form 1040NR-EZ, federal form 1040PR or federal form 1040SS.
