In a supermarket, a family of three, the father, the mother and their little son, just finished their family shopping plan. The father asked his son to send the trolley which they used to the place it was. " Dad, haven't you seen these trolleys are everywhere? Nobody sends them back, and that is why supermarkets specially employ people to make the trolleys together." The father instructed patiently his son:" Then, my son, do you think it is an usefull thing to send back the trolley?"
The son sank into silence. After a short silence, his mother broke in:" This is not a big deal. Don't be too strict to him, let's go home."
when he desided to give up his requirment, the father saw an old couple each pushed one trolley back to the original place. Seeing that, father said to his son:" My son, there are two kinds of people: one kind of them put the trolley everywhere after they used; while another kind send it back. I hope you will be the kind of people who send the trolley back. Then, now, you send it back."
Obviously, the problem discuessed in the story is not whether send back the trolley or not, but the awareness to value behind the simple action. What the story tells us is that there're two kinds of people in the world: one kind of people always do what they consider is right and useful, while anthor kind usually don't do such thing by seeking excuse.
The first kind of people is undoubtedly precious, but the more precious is that no matter whether others will do or not, they will resolutely do what they think is right. It is not because they think such action will change the world, but they don't want to be changed by the world.
