HBO has ordered 13 episodes of the drama series “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.”
The show is based on the popular novels of Rhodesian author Alexander McCall Smith which revolve around a female detective in Botswana. According to TV Week, Grammy Award winner Jill Scott will star as Precious Ramotswe.
A two-hour pilot was recently filmed in Botswana, directed by Anthony Minghella, with a screenplay by Minghella and Richard Curtis. The series will begin filming this summer.
