By now I would hope that every woman knows she should be fitted for a bra at least once a year. Do it. It literally takes 10 minutes to find the right bra once you know your correct size (and 8 of those 10 minutes are used choosing which you want to buy!). A bra wardrobe can’t be sorted UNTIL you know your correct size with with those crazy statistics (75%? 80%? It changes every day!) floating around, you won’t know you’re wearing the correct size until you’re fitted by an expert.
If you’re in the States, my suggestions are your closest Victoria’s Secret or Nordstrom’s. Or both. Some brand work for some women, while others don’t. It’s going to be a bit of trail and error, so go in when you have time to spare. And don’t get discouraged by what the bra looks like. Once you know your size and what type of bra suits you best, you can go web shopping at a later date for frou frou bras. So if the best bra for you is a horrible shade of yellow beige, just buy it and feel a ton more confident while wearing your clothes. Once you’re home hit up the brand’s website to look for other colors/styles they may offer. If you’re desperate for the right bra, and aren’t near a Victoria’s Secret or Nordstrom’s, email me at samantha.cabrera@b5media.com and I will personally do research to find a place in your area. I know of small towns in Canada that conduct bra fittings, so really there’s no excuse to run around being uncomfortable or looking a bit…down.

And no, I’m not a maniac. This post was inspired by the COUNTLESS bra fittings that must take place on every makeover show we see. My favorite brands include Wacoal and Le Mystere, but I’m in what you may call “special sizes.” For cup sizes A-C, Victoria’s Secret will work just fine.
Do you have any particular bra issues? Thanks to my quest for the perfect bra I know everything regarding the subject, so shoot me your questions, concerns or tell us your favorites!
