You probably don’t know anything about Molotov Alva: it’s a short film created in Second Life, using Machinima techniques (see wikipedia Machinima for more details): this is the original video of Molotov Alva which appeared a year ago on Youtube.

It features the story of Molotov Alva, a man stuck in the virtual world of Second Life. It’s intense, and touching. Deep, and frightening.
I loved it, and it has been watched a million times.

Cinemax is now launching a Machinima Contest, named after Molotov Alva’s: over 3000 USD in prizes, and I’m sure we’ll see some really good films out there.

I think that filmmaking is one of the most intense and active activities within Second Life, because it can take the best from the virtual world, and combine it in movies and shows.
Do you agree?
Do you have other machinima movies to point out?
