I personally enjoyed the Prison Break finale (Episode 3.13). My favorite part by far was when Whistler walked into the bar and spoke to Mahone! I was somewhat disappointed by the Sara flashback. I was expecting something more. And the lack of a cameo was slightly disappointing as well. But I thought everything else was acted out very well and left us wanting more.
But enough of what I think! Here’s how the rest of you reviewed the episode…
Juan:
I thought that the episode was one of the most action packed episodes yet. I enjoyed how there was a lot of character development in so many instances. My favorite scene was when Micheal broke the glass case in the museum. It was a decent finale but I still feel that it would have been a better finale had the show aired the remaining 9 episodes intended to air. It would have stretched into some real closure so that production on season 4 could be fresh with a clean slate. The beginnings of S1 (Micheal goes to jail), S2 (Micheal is free), S3 (Micheal goes to jail, S4 (Micheal is free) all have a pattern but I wonder how the remaining episodes would have ended the show. At the end of the first two seasons the viewers had no idea what was going to happen. This time almost all the characters have something lined up for them to do and the only speculation on their fates is HOW they will do it. I loved the episode and PB is the best show on TV!
More reviews…
Ools:
I think this episode was really good, season 3 was a bit… it was too much at times. It’s like you already feel what happens because it’s PB style.
I really liked Michael and how he made up this exchange plan and the he got something into Whistlers pocket.
Linc was very rational when he wanted Michael to just leave it and start a new life. Purcell said before the brothers would split, but it’s still kinda sad they won’t fight the company together.
Michael should have shot Gretchen, really… but I hope, since there are so many things still to be answered that there’s gonna be a fourth season.
Gosh, I can’t believe it that the whole Whistler Gretchen thing was just all staged… and why is Mahone in now? and for what? What are they trying to do?
Chris:
I thought it was great. I loved watching Michael in control (like Jason Bourne).
I do not for one second believe that Mahone is “in” with The Company. He is trying to bring them down either through an aliance with Whistler or one through Michael.
I cannot decide which side Whistler is on.
I think LJ needs to go back to the States. I don’t want to see him become another Kim Bauer where he just gets into trouble season after season. I like Marshall as an actor, though.
Sucre really gained my respect last night. When they got to Panama and he was going to take off to get with Maricruz I thought he was selfish, but he stayed and helped Lincoln. Now the brothers need to return the favor. I see Bellick and Sucre teaming up against T-Bag. There cannot be a happy ending for T-Bag - he is just too ruthless.
Happy for Luis’ reunion with his family.
I still believe Sara is alive and it will probably be just a matter of time before they can strike a deal with Sarah Wayne Callies to come back for one more episode to reunite with Michael. Too many things being said: Mahone saying “if” (Susan/Gretchen) did this to Sara; LJ not seeing it, etc.
Now on with the business of waiting day by day to see if FOX does the right thing by its fans and renews Prison Break for a fourth season or at least our last 9 episodes. (crosses fingers).
Kristen:
Last night’s episode was AMAZING!!! I have to agree with Chris…I can’t help but think that Sara is still alive…what if she was part of the company??? That would be gut wrenching, but not totally out of reach for this show!!!
I was just starting to like Mahone. (just a wee little bit) I should have known better.
T-Bag is quite the scum bag. I can’t help but think that things can’t be good for Sucre with T-Bag in a “leadership” role in Sona.
Whistler is quite the puzzler. I can’t quite figure him out. Just what is in that dang bird book? And who is that guy in the file Michael found in the brief case?
Have to say I saw the whole Sofia/Lincoln thing coming. No surprise there.
Also….I LOVE to see Gretchen/Susan B. squirm and be out of control……I hate her!!!
Trisha:
I really wasn’t disappointed at all, except maybe for how they left Sona with T-bag basically in control. Otherwise, I thought it wrapped up very nicely for a season finale. I mean, it brought everything to some stopping point, but yet it left enough lines there to certainly pick up and take off fast and hard on when/if it comes back. I was very pleased, actually. I must say though, I was SHOCKED when Whistler walked into that bar. I mean…SHOCKED! I just never in a million years made that connection….NEVER!
This way you are left with the fact that Michael still has purpose to be out there hunting down the killer of the woman he loved. Lincoln hopefully (you think) has found someone that can offer him what this man truly needs….family and some roots to keep him out of trouble. But I will almost guarantee you that he’ll end up chasing Michael down and helping him next season. We’ve learned that Whistler really is a bad guy for the Company (which took us a full season of 13 eps to figure out), and I’m sure that he’ll try next season to convince Sophia of what a good guy he is. I bet there will be a play between Whistler and Burrows. And we even were given that glimpse that Mahone has a future and didn’t get killed off (whew!). All together, I think they did a nice job of tidying up things but still leaving the door open to pick up and run with when season four comes around. And even if it doesn’t, it’s still a nice stopping place for all components. I was very satsified and a little more than simply impressed by the end results. They were right about the twists and turns that nobody expected. I sure didn’t.
I would like to add that I think this is the BEST show on TV! And I think that all involved in this show do a phenomenal job, especially all the actors (double points for Fichtner) and the writers (double points for the writers too).
