The Lifestyles Channel of b5media is having a 80s Flashback theme for March, so I decided to take part in it. We are going to go back through to the 80s and look at those cute little onesies they had for our little darlings. It’s amazing the changes that have been made.
Now, before I date myself I’ll admit I was not a baby during the 80s, but I wasn’t a mommy either. Instead I was a child of the 80s that loved listening to Debbie Gibson, Allysa Milano and even New Kids on the Block, I even danced to songs like Runaway Train. While I didn’t spray my bangs up in the air, my sister did, instead I crimped mine.
A few onesies you might’ve found for your baby:

You probably notice a lot of phrases on the onesies, this was really big back then, especially with the words “Rad, Cool, Awesome, Totally Radical, Dude,” etc. TV shows were another in thing no matter what the show, if it could be put on a shirt or a onesie it was. As the years have went on we have become more focused on the health of our children and decided to put them in all natural or recycled. Those that don’t, stick with comfort items, things that are soft and warm or that we know of such as Gerber.
A few items you might put on your baby today:

In the 80s your child may have watched: Sesame Street, Gummy Bears, Rainbow Brite, Pound Puppies, She-ra, He-man, Smurf’s, Wuzzles, Care Bears or even Shirt Tales. Today, your child can still catch a few of these but a baby is more inclined to watch: Einstein’s, Littlest Einsteins, Barney, Yo Gabba Gabba or another type of learning tv program.
Take a step back in time, what onesies or shirts to you remember? Music? TV shows? How is the 80s parent different from today’s parent? What shows did you watch and what do you allow your children to watch?
