I’ve been getting quite a few demo albums from readers of Industrial Addiction, and I’ve never been as floored as I have been in these past few months than I can recollect.
The art and musical talent I have come across from many a indie band is astounding. The sheer massive amount of passion and musical prowess is uncomphrendable to not only the beginning listener of an indie band or industrial music for that matter, but also from artist to artist. I am deeply humbled with just the thought of these artists getting in touch with me and giving me the “heads up” on their latest album drop or upcoming release, that I not only feel the utmost respect for them, but an overwhelming desire to further that information to a light that is beyond one person.
In other words, I want to give to so many others what that solo indie band has given to me. That my friends, readers, and band addicts, is what I have been bashing my head against the wall day in and day out for this past week to do.
I have been assaulting my brain in an effort to come up with an outstanding way to give the exact same experience to you as I have been given from a band. Surely I could just give a quick shout out via an update on this site and recommend an indie band who has just given me a sample of their sole and heart, however, to me that just seems a bit superfluous and frankly half-assed.
I haven’t been able to think of the grandest way to get the word out and duplicate the experience given to me, but I will not give up. For now I know the only way I can aid in sharing ANY morsel of excellent music is to point the readers, listeners of this genre, and even other bands (indie or not), by simply offering my aid in getting the word out. I feel there is so much more that can be done but right now I am at a intellectual roadblock.
Know this though, if any band that does send me a promo CD or ask me to do a review of any album, I will NOT give out any free links to downloads for a CD or album unless specifically told that it is okay to do so.
After all, not every band thinks and feels the same about how their hard effort and soul-poured pieces of music should go about being dispersed.
If there is a, thought, idea, or a request that you think Industrial Addiction should offer, email it to me or even write a comment here letting me know what it is and why it should be offered.
Not only will this give Industrial Addiction an edge to any other place, but it will give everyone a sense of being home and will help out the industrial music genre in more ways than can be observably noted.
As Always, Here is A Fix.
