Tonight was what I believe is the first episode of Janice & Abbey, which seems to be Oxygen’s experiment of keeping Janice Dickinson on the air and us glued to the TV to see what the model diva will do next. Now she’s teaching British import Abbey Clancy First up LA Models/LA Talent: Abby does well, despite being super nervous. She gets good feedback from the manager and the scout, and tell her that her commercial appeal will server her well fro their clients.
Second stop, John Casablancas: The scout tells her she has no edge, and want her to chop her hair off, Posh Spice-style. Abby says she’d be willing to chop it off, and also says she would relocate to LA immediately. The only thing that might hold her back would be her boyfriend. Oh, the elusive boyfriend! Always holding the aspiring models and actresses back!
Last top for Abby was Elite: The scout took a look at Abby’s book and says she looks great, but needs a rich look for her hair. Something more distinct and one color versus the dirty bleach blond hair that nearly every Sally and Jane are waltzing around LA with.
Overall the meetings go well, but as Janice says, “This is just the beginning.”
Since two of the three agencies criticized Abbey’s hair, Janice sends them to Gabe and Duke, Janice’s own makeup and hair dream team. Duke decides they’ll stay blond, but a little softer shade, and will put in new extensions that will be easier for Abbey to maintain. Personally, I thought the makeover was ridiculous. The hair was way too choppy and dead at the ends. This has a lot to do with how it was styled, so I’m hoping it softens up.
The episode ends with a preview of next week’s episode which will involve Abbey throwing a network party in order to learn how to work a crowd. The catch? Janice will be barking in Abbey’s ear the entire time. Hilarity ensues!
The next episode of Janice & Abbey will air next Tuesday at 11/10 CST on Oxygen.
