Isn't it about time for the Department of Homeland Security to issue the spring edition of its color-coded threat level advisory system?

THREAT LEVEL thinks the Homeland Security Advisory System should keep Americans sensitive to the threats of radical extremist terrorist attacks, even as they un-mothball their Bermuda shorts and re-string their badminton rackets in anticipation of the light-hearted days of spring and summer. The current colors are just so fall and winter severe.

So here's our mock-up, which DHS is free to use or riff off without compensation. All we ask for is a link back here from the DHS website.

As a reminder the country is largely now at Freesia, or Elevated. though the threat level is Cantaloupe, or High, in the aviation sector.

And a big shout out to Jon Snyder who designed not only this graphic, but also the unforgettable Hot Dog Homeland Security Advisory System.

Note: Some say the word Rococco is misspelled here -- that it should be Rococo. Given this chart is based off Pantone's colors for spring 2008, we defer to their spelling.
