mcdonalds I’m a bit dry for content this week so I will share a fairly short rant about my morning ventures in the world of fast breakfast food. So, it’s Saturday morning and time to go grocery shopping. Now I’m not the smartest guy in the world but I’m never in the mood to deal with stupid people.

So we get to the drive through at McDonalds and it’s my turn to order. The lady comes on in a very unenthusiastic voice, like she really didn’t want to be there(Can you blame her) “Can I take your order”. I’m very polite at the drive through because you never know what path your food may take if you get upset with the drive thru crew. So I say “Yes, may I have a number 8″ and wait for her to confirm that she had heard me. She replies, That will be $4.59, please pull forward”  I’m with my wife and kids and they are hungry too. I wasn’t done ordering and she didn’t ask me “Will that be all?”, so I say “I’m not done yet. May I get a number 5 as well?”, She says I’ll have to get that at the next window, that will be $3.89 please pull forward”. By this time I’m getting a bit upset because I still have more to order and she’s about to run out of windows. So I respond “I’m not done yet” in a rather bitter tone.”Your supposed to ask me if there is anything else”, She replies “Excuse me, I’ll have to get those at the next window”. So I’m am extremely ticked by now and tell her to forget it and I drive off. I go to Burger King…where I got great service.

There are jobs that are cut out for people/people. If you can’t handle customer service then perhaps you need to find another path of employment. If your nice to the customer, 97% of them will be nice to you. If they are nice to you from the get-go there should be no reason for you to put on a show and at least pretend to be nice. I don’t work customer service, I just couldn’t deal with the people. When I need to call someone for services I put on my professional polite voice and I make it sound as if that day is the best day of my life…unless they start screwing things up and making me look stupid. Then I have to get stupid as well. Anyway, if you have read this far…you have way too much time on your hands, but thanks for your interest. :)
