The space shuttle Discovery, which landed safely at Florida Kennedy space center on March 28,has fulfiled its mission of delivering the bracket fragment as well as the solar energy cell pannel for the international space station.
NASA's live TV showed that the space shuttle Discovery was supposed to land at 1:30pm on March 28.The postponement for more than one hour was due to the bad weather.

“Discovery, welcome back, you do a very good job.” The ground control personnel said to the flight Director Lee Ahlshabo through radio.”Coming back makes me feel good.” replied Lee Ahlshabo.
The space shuttle Discovery lifted off on March 15,then docked at the international space station on March 17.During the 8 days of docking, 3 spacewalks have been done by the Discovery crew members. The astronauts have finished the installation of bracket. They also fixed and showed the 4
th but the final part of solar energy cell pannel, which mounted the total generated output up to 120kw.
The bracket ,which consists of 11 parts,is like the spinal column of the space station. The final one named S6, which the astronauts fixed,is about 14 tons in weight. After the installation of S6,the entire length of the bracket at the international space station.is up to 355 inches(about 102.1m).
Discovery also delivered a new part for the water cycle equipment which is guarantee for the permanent personnels augmenting at the space station.According to the plan, the members of long-term study group will double its crew to six people by May.
Discovery brought back many cargos from the space station, including blood sample, urine specimen as well as saliva sample of the astronauts, and they also were back with the cycling water which was made from urine and the sweat of the astronauts by the water cycle equipment. NASA's scientists will do some research to find out whether it is drinkable.
The space shuttle Discovery was the US initial flight this year. The next flight time is scheduled to blast off on May 12.By that time, the astronauts ,whose mission is to carry on the final repair for the outer space telescope Harbo, will lift off by taking the space shuttle Atlantis.
