Fans of The CW’s Girlfriends and The Game have a little reason to celebrate about now. That’s because the network’s current schedule for Monday, February 4, indicates that both series—long in repeats and previously not noted as having anything but reruns in store for weeks to come—are airing fresh episodes on that date. Girlfriends will present an installment entitled “Adapt to Adopt,” while The Game will premiere “Je-Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day.”
Of course, as previously noted at Comedy Centric, yesterday marked the last time The CW’s four-series comedy block will air on Monday nights in the foreseeable future. The teen soap Gossip Girl takes over the 8pm EST time slot next Monday, and the second season of the reality series Pussycat Dolls Present moves in on February 18 at 9pm.
Until the sophomore show arrives, however, Girlfriends and The Game will remain in their old Monday-night homes. Both series will also air on Sundays between 9pm and 10pm, starting February 10 as announced earlier.
Due to the programming changes caused by the still ongoing writers strike, The CW is billing the February 11, Monday-night broadcast of each sitcom as a season finale. It’s not yet clear whether those episodes will be new or repeats, but as soon as the information gets out, I’ll post it.
In the meantime, visit the Girlfriends Episode Guide and the Game Episode Guide to get advance word on “Adapt to Adopt” and “Je-Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day,” respectively.
