I just found this article and thought it was a really helpful review of things to look at and think about when something just doesn’t seem right with your Internet Explorer installation.
The article covers tips and tricks for the following problems:
- “Page cannot be displayed” errors, Red x instead of pictures, view source not working
- Editing the HOST file
- Error messages when attempting to send page or link by e-mail
- Hyperlinks not working
- “Open in new Window” doesn’t work
- IE freezes, shuts down or reboots computer
- IE windows open in weird sizes or off screen
- Repeated disconnects from the Internet
- Runtime errors
Editing the HOST file was my main reason for finding this article, but it ends up not being the issue that I thought it was. I’ll keep looking, but thought this was a good resource to share.
