If you are a beriani rice lover and happened to be somewhere near Taman Tun Dr Ismail, you should not miss the opportunity to try this dish at Wak Chai Restaurant. I do not know the exact address but if you can find the Maybank’s Taman Tun Dr Ismail branch, you are just within walking distance less than 50 meters from Wak Chai Beriani House which is located along the row of shops just across the Maybank branch.
There are two varieties of beriani rice dish offered at Wak Chai. The normal beriani rice variety (where the rice and the meats are cooked separately) that is available during the week days except Friday is already good by any standard. However if you are there on a Friday, you will get the chance to taste the special variety… very much like ‘beriani gam’ where the chicken, beef or mutton meats are cooked and buried within the basmathi rice itself.
The aroma is really nice and mouth watering and when you finally get to eat the beriani rice… I am sure you will agree with me that this has got to be one of the most delicious beriani rice in town.
Just in case you are not into beriani rice, there other dishes worth your visit to Wak Chai Restaurant. Give it a try and let me know what do you think.
Next time I am there, I will try to remember to get the address and phone number and update it here or in another post, possibly with the photo of my favourite beriani rice.
