A baby’s laugh is addictive to me. I do incredibly ridiculous things on a regular basis to get my fix of giggles. This morning I discovered a new way to feed my need for baby laughs.
The boy has recently found great pleasure in mirrors. I’m not quite sure if he is incredibly vain, easily amused or thinks he’s looking at another baby, but he smiles whenever he catches a glimpse of himself in a mirror. Trying to leverage this to get a laugh, I picked him up this morning and hustled across the floor towards a full-length mirror. Playing the risky game of chicken with the baby in the mirror (and his incredibly amusing dad) paid off and the baby erupted into peels of laughter laughter. As good as it made me feel, I wanted more and continued on playing baby chicken.
After a few minutes my arms got tired and I grew weary of the game, but he just kept on laughing. I looked up at one point realized my wife was watching me, laughing both at how cute the baby was and how much of an idiot I looked like. It was working so I was happy. It was actually among some of the least stupid things I’ve done for a laugh.
What silly things do/did you do to make your kids laugh?
