Unsurprisingly, custom video aggregator Magnify.net is moving into the content delivery network (CDN) space. This is an opportunity for Magnify to pick up where some of the other networks like Brightcove are leaving off. Magnify was always built on its own CDN, but space was limited to 50 MB and it didn’t provide all of the freedom that a premium CDN has to offer. While you can’t yet take advantage of bulk uploads yet, this is an upcoming feature that Magnify will soon offer.
With the new CDN offering, you can also plug into Magnify’s embeddable player and any of the Magnify sites. Magnify is really targeting small- to medium-sized businesses with the new CDN offering, giving a self-service option where brands can push their own content. As this could very well be marketing video material, it offers a central place to upload videos with more control options for advertising and delivery.
With the Magnify PRO option you can control ads for an incrementally increasing number of pages, starting at about $25 per month. There are several other plans to choose from for adding more control to your content. See here for pricing options.
This marks Magnify’s latest move in achieving a full-service video delivery system, regardless of your individual, professional or business needs. The past few months have been peppered with a number of Magnify updates, including a new YouTube upload widget, web-cam features, additional custom options for video networks and more.
As Magnify continues to layer in these all-encompassing features, it grows its capabilities as a powerful video network that aims to take on the big guys. I expect to see more in the way of advertising options from Magnify, especially now that its CDN presents more control for brands to use Magnify’s network as a way to push video marketing content among other things.
